Since the debut of Versace in 1978, the brand has been defining pop culture through memorably stylish moments, including Jennifer Lopez’s famous sheer green plunging-neck gown she wore to the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000.
Now the Italian luxury brand’s contemporary line is banking on the rising solo career — and enviable style— of pop recording artist, Zayn Malik. Announced today, the former One Direction member is collaborating with Donatella Versace to produce a menswear and womenswear capsule collection that will debut in May 2017.
This is not the first time Zayn has explored the fashion world. For his first-ever MET Gala, he wore an understated black suit with metal sleeves designed by Versace. In August, the “Pillow Talk” singer announced a collaboration with shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti that launches in January 2017.
