Review: Pryda – Pryda 10 Vol II

0

On the eve of releasing his debut album, titled PR (10) DA, due out October 2015, PRYDA (also known as Eric Prydz, a man of many trades who hails from Täby, Sweden) is sharing a huge surprise with all of us. A collection of songs, spanning 10 years in the making, in 3 volumes (Volume l released in July 2015, Volume ll released in August 2015 & Volume lll released in September 2015).

Volume ll has a total of 6 songs, with a total playing time of almost 58 minutes. The songs have the notable sound that Pryda is known for with breathtaking builds, killer drops, dope synthesizer sounds & a range for every mood as well as musical genres. It has exhilarating sounds unlike any other. Additionally, with next level productions, this makes Eric Prydz a dance music legend for the masses with a massive career that has stood the test of time.

Starting off is “Welcome To My House” & it certainly is. Strong start, commanding bassline & unreal rhythmic sensations taking you to another place. Something refreshing & one that will find its way to becoming a playlist favorite.

“Annexet” is a beast. Digging the vibes of a sound reminiscent of Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller” but of course with the signature Pryda sound.

“Clapham” is a one of those songs that while it remands on the darker side, has its moments of spontaneity.

“Snaz” is a song that puts you in a good mood whenever you hear it. With a strong, commanding bassline that’s matched with a beat that won’t quit.

“Rush” for me is the unexpected surprise with unreal synthesizer sounds & a melody to get lost in. Having a deep, funky bassline but with catchy transitions that you can’t ignore!

To end the EP, there’s “T.I.D”. Groovy but not cheesy. Brilliant & cleverly tuned to be a dance floor smash.

Perfect way to end the night or even go for a drive! Dominating undertones, chill vibes but still delivering the hard sounds of the progressive side, destined to please not only the progressive house lovers but lovers of all music genres as well, as there’s something for everyone.

In conclusion, for those unfamiliar with his work, you should definitely check him out (along with his many alias such as Prydz, Eric Prydz & Cirez D). A true presence to be reckoned with and as someone who not only commands attention but also gained the respect of not only his fellow peers but also a legion of millions of fans around the world.
