Having recently unveiled new solo Ibiza residency, ‘We Are The Night’, Nic Fanciulli presents his latest remix – a rework of Jamie XX’s ‘SeeSaw’ ft. Romy, which is out now via his Saved Records imprint.
A memorable track from Jamie XX’s 2014 album, ‘In Colour’, ‘See Saw’ sees Nic explore new club territory – and his twisting, peak-time grooves lends themselves perfectly to the quiet, hazy melancholy of the original mix.
Leading with echoing, percussive claps, Nic’s mix revolves around a low, rolling bassline that immediately takes things deeper and darker, embedding Romy’s distant, glazed vocals within an intricate percussive framework. Building over eight and a half pulsating minutes, it feels like the perfect record to kickstart Nic’s hectic summer schedule, and is sure to earn plenty of rotation throughout the Ibiza season.
Alongside his new remix and ahead of the release of his long-awaited debut artist album later this year, Nic also brings solo Ibiza residency ‘We Are The Night’ to the white isle on June 3rd, as well as an OFF week Sonar showcase at Pacha Barcelona on June 19th – not forgetting the 2016 instalment of his weekend festival, The Social.
