Andy Robertson Speaks Out on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool Future: “No One Knows”

Liverpool star Andy Robertson has addressed the swirling rumors surrounding teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Anfield, saying that “no one knows” what lies ahead for the English full-back.

Alexander-Arnold, whose contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2025, has been heavily linked with a blockbuster move to Real Madrid. Despite the mounting speculation, Robertson insists that his teammate is currently focused solely on recovering from his ankle injury and getting back on the pitch.

“Trent’s head is not great because he’s injured,” Andy Robertson told reporters. “He hates being injured. None of us like being injured, but it hurts Trent a little bit more. That’s all he is focused on.”

Acknowledging the noise around Alexander-Arnold’s future, Robertson added, “It is impossible for me to say we have not seen all the noise and everyone commenting on it. But for us, our focus is for him to get back fit and healthy. Once he does that, what will happen, will happen. No one knows that yet. People can talk and speculate but for us we want Trent back very soon.”

The 25-year-old full-back has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp, playing a pivotal role in their Premier League, Champions League, and domestic cup victories over recent seasons. His absence has been felt on the pitch, and his future has become one of the most discussed topics in English football.

Meanwhile, Liverpool continue their march toward the Premier League title. With just eight games left to play, the Reds sit 12 points clear at the top of the table. But Robertson warns that the job is far from done.

“You guys talk about the 12 points, but we talk about the next three points,” the Scotland international said. “Every game becomes bigger for us. Every time we win three points, the gap becomes bigger for us. We have eight games left, every time we pick up three points, it brings us closer to where we want to be. But we are still a long way off that.”

With the title race heating up and contract talks looming for key players like Alexander-Arnold, the end of the season promises plenty of drama both on and off the pitch. Liverpool fans will be hoping their homegrown star decides to stay at Anfield, but as Robertson makes clear: nothing is set in stone just yet.
