As a DJ, Eric has brought his own style of intelligent, sophisticated, somatic house music comfortably to intimate private parties, club nights, and massive festivals alike – most recently being tapped for a residency at LA’s esteemed Sound Nightclub. With his personal productions, Eric has expanded his impact beyond simply being a purveyor of taste and into a true creator.
2018 saw Eric’s music reach new heights, smashing previous plateaus with the release of his Eric Sharp & Friends EP via Little Assembly. His productions remain widely lauded in the press, with Take This Time holding the #1 spot on Hype Machine for 3 days and Too Much also hitting the top 20. In 2019 Eric released Monday Blues via Sweden’s House Music With Love imprint, again topping Hype Machine and amassing over 400k Spotify streams.
House maestro Eric Sharp’s 16-year career has seen him hold down a coveted residency at LA’s Sound Nightclub, perform at Coachella, SXSW, and Outside Lands, collaborate with Anna Lunoe, and remix acts like Jillionaire and Grammy-winners Jars Of Clay.
The sober artist’s music is fueled by unity and balance, ethos that reflect across his lifestyle of health, spiritualism, veganism, surrealism, and freedom. Sharp imbued his values into his house collaboration alongside Chinese-American, genderqueer artist Zhao titled “The Gift” which got released on Friday, February 18.
“The Gift” features Zhao’s spoken word poetry about the intersections of art and commerce, and is the second single to drop off Eric Sharp’s forthcoming EP, Emergence. Stream here.
Evocations of oneness are once again the tenets of Sharp’s sound on “The Gift,” his follow up single to the spell-binding “Like Water.” The track’s pulsating kick drums and introspective synth chords meld with sections of glitchy, techno-inspired tones. These elements blend together to create a cosmic, dance-fueled harmony.
