EA has officially confirmed that the next Battlefield game will be revealed this summer.
During a recent earnings call, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson promised fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their first look at the long-awaited shooter. The new title is being built by a powerhouse lineup of studios, DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect, and Criterion, so expectations are sky-high. If you’ve been itching to return to the chaos of Battlefield, this summer is about to bring the heat.
The next Battlefield is already being tested behind the scenes via a new initiative called Battlefield Labs, which Wilson described as the franchise’s “biggest playtesting initiative” ever. It’s part of EA’s effort to be more in sync with the community, and they’re serious about gathering real feedback this time. According to Wilson, “We haven’t always really worked to help them understand the things that we’re building and for us to understand the things that they really want out of a Battlefield.” Now, they’re trying to change that by making the development process more transparent and player-driven.
Wilson also noted that the new Battlefield game is on track for its planned FY26 launch window, which means fans should expect it before April 2026. That might sound far off, but with the full reveal just around the corner and active playtesting in full swing, it looks like EA is carefully crafting a comeback. They’ve even expanded the Battlefield Labs playtest, inviting more players from North America and Europe and officially opening participation in Asia for the first time. The demand is apparently “incredible,” which isn’t surprising considering how big the franchise has been at its peak.
EA knows they need to get this right. The Battlefield series has had its highs and lows, but when it hits, it dominates the shooter space. Wilson made it clear that this upcoming title is meant to be a “pivotal step” in defining their next era of blockbuster entertainment. So whether you’re a long-time Battlefield vet or someone who bailed after the last few releases, this could be the game that brings the whole squad back together.
The countdown to reveal is on. Summer’s not that far off, and with so much riding on this new entry, you can bet EA will go all out to impress.
