Tango Gameworks, the studio behind the hit rhythm-action title Hi-Fi Rush, has officially confirmed it’s working on a brand-new, unannounced action game.
After being acquired by Krafton in August 2024 and escaping a planned shutdown by Microsoft earlier that year, the studio is coming back strong.
The Tokyo-based developer just launched a refreshed website and logo, signaling a full rebranding under its new ownership. But the biggest takeaway? They’re hiring, and not just for a few roles. The team is looking to fill multiple positions across almost every department.
“While we aren’t ready to reveal much yet, Tango Gameworks has a number of positions open for early work on an unannounced action game!” the company stated on its new site. This is the clearest indication yet that the studio is ramping up development on its next big project.
This marks an exciting chapter for Tango, especially after a rocky few months. The studio was one of four that Microsoft had planned to shut down in May 2024. That changed after Krafton stepped in and acquired the team, giving it new life and direction.
According to the website, the Tokyo office has officially reopened, and Tango is putting heavy emphasis on culture and creativity. “Finally, after months of waiting, Tango Gameworks is back, and in a brand-new way,” the team wrote.
Tango’s new philosophy leans into a “creative workshop” vibe, prioritizing passion and that “hand-made” feel in its games. The site’s Creators section offers a peek at the people behind the games, providing insight into what it’s like to work there. If you’re someone who loves game development and values a hands-on, creative environment, this might be a golden opportunity.
Although details on the new title are being kept under wraps, the fact that they’re openly hiring suggests that development is in early stages. Fans of Hi-Fi Rush and Tango’s earlier horror titles like The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo will be watching closely to see what direction the studio takes.
For now, Tango Gameworks’ new action game remains a mystery. But the studio is clearly making moves, rebuilding its team, and aiming for another hit. If you’ve ever wanted to join a studio with serious creative chops and a strong comeback story, now might be the time.
