Another milestone, another record—LeBron James continues to redefine NBA history.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar made his 2,500th career three-pointer on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, cementing his place among the greatest shooters in NBA history.
With this achievement, James becomes just the seventh player in league history to reach this mark, proving once again that his game continues to evolve, even in his 22nd NBA season.
LeBron’s Historic Night at Madison Square Garden
During the Lakers’ 128-112 victory over the New York Knicks, LeBron’s milestone moment came in the third quarter, when he sank a deep three to put his name in the history books.
Not only did he hit the landmark shot, but he also finished with a triple-double:
- 33 points
- 11 rebounds
- 12 assists
This marked his 10th triple-double of the season—further proof that, even at 40 years old, LeBron remains one of the most dominant forces in the game.

LeBron Joins an Elite Shooting Club
By reaching 2,500 career three-pointers, LeBron joins a short list of NBA sharpshooters:
- Stephen Curry
- Ray Allen
- James Harden
- Reggie Miller
- Kyle Korver
- Damian Lillard
- LeBron James
James overtook Kyle Korver on December 4, 2024, moving into seventh place. Now, he has Hall of Famer Reggie Miller (2,560) in his sights.
Breaking Records at 40 Years Old
LeBron continues to dominate well into his 40s, adding to an already legendary career:
- Most Career Points – NBA’s all-time leading scorer
- Most Career Minutes Played – Surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 57,446 minutes
- Most 30-Point Games – Breaking Michael Jordan’s record
- Oldest Player with a Triple-Double – Still stuffing the stat sheet
Just last week, James joked that he could play for another five to seven years, and based on how he’s performing, it’s hard to argue against it.
What’s Next for LeBron?
With LeBron still playing at an elite level, the milestones will keep coming. The next big number to watch?
- 2,560 threes – Can he surpass Reggie Miller?
- Another championship run? – Can the Lakers make a deep playoff push?
- All-Star MVP? – Can he add another trophy to his stacked resume?
For now, though, LeBron James has added yet another achievement to his legendary career, proving that even in his 22nd season, he’s still rewriting NBA history.
