Paul Feig Defends Blake Lively Amid Justin Baldoni Lawsuit

Renowned director Paul Feig has publicly shown support for Blake Lively in the wake of her legal battle against Justin Baldoni.

The “It Ends With Us” star has accused Baldoni, her co-star and director, of harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Feig, who directed Lively in “A Simple Favor” and its upcoming sequel, took to social media to voice his backing for the actress. “I’ve now made two movies with Blake, and all I can say is she’s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind people I’ve ever worked with,” Feig wrote. “She truly did not deserve any of this smear campaign against her. I think it’s awful she was put through this.”

Feig joins a growing list of supporters rallying around Lively, including “It Ends With Us” author Colleen Hoover and her “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” co-stars America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel.

Lively’s legal complaint outlines several troubling allegations, including claims that Baldoni pressured her to perform unrehearsed scenes involving physical intimacy, made unwanted remarks about her appearance, and failed to maintain professional boundaries. The complaint further accuses Baldoni of hiring a crisis PR team to preemptively discredit Lively should allegations about his behavior surface.

“She suffered immense trauma on set, and the lack of accountability created an environment where harassment was normalized,” the lawsuit alleges. Lively also claims Baldoni’s comments about her weight and body post-pregnancy were both invasive and degrading, contributing to a toxic work environment.

Since the lawsuit became public, Baldoni has been dropped by his talent agency, William Morris Endeavor. Despite his denials, the allegations have sparked widespread industry discussion about the treatment of women in Hollywood and the importance of safe and respectful workplaces.

In a statement, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, denied the allegations, calling them “false and outrageous,” and accused Lively of attempting to repair her reputation through legal means.

Amid the controversy, “It Ends With Us” continues to attract attention as a box office success, but its legacy is now intertwined with these disturbing allegations. Support for Lively has only grown, with many industry figures echoing Feig’s sentiment about her professionalism and talent.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the entertainment world will be watching closely, with hopes that the case brings accountability and a renewed focus on creating safe environments for all performers.
