Tiger Woods Announces His Mother Kultida Has Passed Away

Golf legend Tiger Woods shared devastating news on Tuesday, announcing the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, at the age of 81.

In an emotional statement posted on social media, Woods expressed deep sorrow while celebrating his mother’s strength and unwavering support throughout his life.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning. My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable,” Woods wrote. “She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible.”

The Backbone of Tiger’s Success

Kultida Woods played a critical role in shaping Tiger Woods’ career, often attending his major tournaments and pushing him to succeed. Known for her no-nonsense discipline, she was affectionately referred to as “the enforcer” in the Woods household. While his father, Earl Woods, was widely credited with introducing him to golf, Tiger himself acknowledged that his mother’s discipline was just as influential.

“My dad may have been in the Special Forces, but I was never afraid of him,” Woods once said in an interview. “My mom’s still here, and I’m still deathly afraid of her.”

A Lasting Legacy

Kultida Woods, originally from Thailand, was always a strong presence in Tiger’s life, not just as a mother but also as a guiding force behind his legendary golf career. She was the one who encouraged him to wear his iconic red shirts on Sundays, believing in the power of the color to bring strength and victory.

Her belief proved right, as Woods went on to dominate the sport, winning 15 major championships while donning the signature red.

Support from Family and Fans

Kultida is survived by her son Tiger and her grandchildren, Sam and Charlie, who were also very close to their grandmother. Fans and fellow golfers have already begun pouring in their condolences, recognizing the immense role she played in shaping one of the greatest golfers of all time.

“She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie,” Woods wrote. “Thank you all for your support, prayers, and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family.”

Our thoughts are with Tiger Woods and his family during this difficult time.
