Mike McGuinness, the Manchester producer known as Lempo, has released the first of an incredible trilogy of singles, entitled Ménage à Trois.

Out on his Applique Music imprint and released with accompanying music videos, ‘Partie Un’ (Part One) ‘Goinout’ features guest vocalist MC Flipside of Toronto, Canada who performed the vocal on Deadmau5’ 2009 ‘Hi Friend’ anthem – Flipside was quoted as saying “Lempo is a smooth cat, this one will cater to the house and jackin’ tech lovers!”. The single also features a chunky remix from Abode London resident jock, Jimmy Switch, who said “It’s a great project to be involved on, I’ve always preferred working with things outside the box. The whole concept is great!”

The trilogy begins with a story of a man battling his inner demon, featuring Lempo in a state of confusion and discomfort. Stuart Smith. Lempo’s Manager from AMO described the video launch “I’ve been working with Lempo for over 10 years and witnessed him grow into one of the best technical and liveliest DJs I’ve ever seen. His music production has now reached its pinnacle and all I can say is watch out to the big boys because he’s here to stay!”

The narrative continues to unfold in the second installment, ‘Soz’ (released in May), the entire project is shot on location in Manchester and directed by Steve Moyler. A long version of the video will be released later this year as a short film. When asked about the project Moyler replied “The House of Three concept was an intriguing proposition for me to approach. Taking the inner demon that we can all feel – as well as that hallucinogenic effect it can have on a situation – was the approach to Part One. Everybody grows the seeds of anxiety over a situation in their life. The trick is not to let it manifest or allow it to come and go as it wishes. This is the struggle we witness in Part One but as we will see from the completed Ménage à Trois tale, if you take control of this you can be anywhere you want to be.”

The concluding part of the project – entitled ‘Triumph’ will land in June and feature vocals from US rapper extraordinaire, Princess Superstar, best known for her chart success on ‘Licky’ with Larry Tee and ‘Perfect’ with Dutch band Mason.

Lempo admits that the dark, edgy tone of his latest output is inspired by recent personal experiences. “It’s been a turbulent 12 months,” he says, “and this trilogy very much represents the journey and the obstacles I’ve faced. But that makes for the best art though, right?”

The full release is available now from all major digital stores and streaming sites. You can see the unmissable results unfold exclusively on the official Lempo YouTube page, via www.Lempo.co.uk
