T.H.E – Hi Le Pedre! Welcome to T.H.E – Music Essentials. How has 2021 kicked off for you?

Le Pedre – 2021 started with some really good stream numbers for “I Was Made” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” and a lot more tracks to come!

T.H.E – Could you tell us a bit about you started producing music?

Le Pedre – I have been a musician since I was a kid and producing music was the next logical step for me. Six years ago I started producing music and gradually getting involved in the music industry, it all happened smoothly.

T.H.E – You’re a DJ and a producer. While coronavirus has caused the touring side of being a DJ to come to a halt, do you feel that it has helped you be more productive with the increased studio time?

Le Pedre – Absolutely luckily, I had a lot of inspiration during those quarantine times, moreover the lack of touring has forced producer to create even more than usual.

T.H.E – What do you feel is the difference between a good DJ and a good music producer? Personally, you prefer DJing or music producer?

Le Pedre – While a good DJ has to feel what might be a good next track while playing in front of a crowd, a producer will have to imagine what people will want to listen in the next few months without being with them. It is really much harder in my opinion.

What I prefer is producing music to play them later in front of a crowd, so a mix of both.

T.H.E – We hear that you’re a big fan of mountain sports, like skiing and mountain bikes. What have been some of your favourite spots for these hobbies?

Le Pedre – For skiing it’s undoubtedly the French Alps, and for mountain biking it is definitely Whistler B.C. in Canada.

T.H.E – You have travelled quite a bit. If there are 3 countries you would absolutely love the opportunity to travel back to, which ones would you choose?

Le Pedre – I would love to go back to Japan, Texas USA and Iceland, those places were amazing.

T.H.E – Which are your favourite video games and why?

Le Pedre – At the moment it is Call Of Duty Warzone, because it allow me to play with my friends and trashtalk them through the mic !

T.H.E – Nightclubs are an important element for the electronic music culture of any country. What is it about nightclubs according to you that sets them apart from say festivals for example?

Le Pedre – You won’t do the same DJ set in a club than in festival, you are inside so all the SFX and lightshow are different and additionally you are closer to the crowd. I think the club’s experience is as important for a DJ as the Festival one.

T.H.E – You’re also a fan of scuba-diving. Which aquatic animals are you a fan of, and have had the opportunity to see when you have been in the midst of a dive?

Le Pedre – I was in French Antilles a few weeks ago and I had the opportunity to swim with some big sharks and marine turtle which was a dream for me !
