After a year long hiatus and relocation to Los Angeles, singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Khai has reemerged with his first single of the year, “For You.”
The track’s psychedelic, soulful vibe is a preview of what is poised to be an active year of releases for the Missouri-born artist, including a debut LP slated for later this year.
Known for playing an instrumental role in the rise of the chilled-out electronic R&B scene, Khai has reimagined and evolved his sound into an oasis of low-fi hip-hop, alternative R&B, and psych/indie rock inspired by Kanye West, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Andre 3000, and Coldplay. With a brazen new sound ripe to cut through the current sonic landscape, Khai showcases his commitment to leading a new wave of artists who fearlessly blend genres and styles into their sound. “For You” follows Khai’s debut EP, ‘If You,’ and the release of his 2015 breakout single “Do You Go Up,” which has since amassed over 4 million streams on Spotify.
