Legendary UK Dance act Faithless have called upon one of the world’s most respected underground Producer & DJ, Maceo Plex, to deliver an exhilarating remix of acclaimed single ‘Synthesizer’ (ft Nathan Ball).

With his remix of ‘Synthesizer’, renowned US Producer Maceo Plex layers poignant, heartfelt piano chords with glitchy robotic synths and punchy kicks alongside Nathan Ball’s stirring vocal. This builds to an electrifying, euphoric crescendo which makes the listener yearn for dimly-lit dance-floors, punctuated by explosive lasers. Maceo Plex then strips everything back to reveal a hypnotic bassline lurking underneath.

‘Synthesizer’ is the first single to be taken from the eagerly awaited Faithless album ‘All Blessed’ – their first new LP in 10 years, released on BMG on 23 October.

On Maceo Plex’s remix of ‘Synthesizer’ Faithless said: “Faithless are proud to present an epic and deep remix from award-winning DJ and Producer Maceo Plex, which takes ‘Synthesizer’ into a whole new wide-screen sonic world. A remix to get properly lost in.”

Maceo Plex said: “At first listen, I was not too sure how to approach the remix. But when I heard the piano in the breakdown, it suddenly became clear that I need to base the entire track around this beautiful piano line. The rest was built on those piano chords and adding the vocals pretty late in the process. It was a lot of fun, and of course, it was an honour to be part of their new single.”

‘Synthesizer’ received strong support, including BBC Radio play from Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Jo Whiley, Annie Nightingale, Shaun Keaveny, Nemone, Chris Hawkins, and Rylan; with DJs supporting the track including Roger Sanchez, Tom Novy, Marco Carola, and Kryder.

In a history that stretches back some 25 years, Faithless have long occupied a pivotal position in the world of British electronica. Marrying elements of house, trip-hop, dub, and a songwriting flair into arena-filling explosive, euphoric sounds. Their accomplishments tell their own story: seven Top 10 singles, six Top 10 albums (three at Number 1), a Mercury Prize nomination for their brilliant sophomore album, 1998’s ‘Sunday 8PM’ and their impressive four times Platinum-certified ‘Forever Faithless – The Greatest Hits’ adding to a career total in excess of 15 million worldwide.

Faithless have graced festival stages the world over, including Glastonbury’s famous Pyramid Stage twice. Globally, they’ve sold out multiple arena runs.

It has been ten years since Faithless’ last studio album ‘The Dance’ entered the charts in 2010 at Number 2, yet their music continues to be discovered through international DJ sets and the rise of streaming services. Their 2015 remix album ‘Faithless 2.0’ took them back to the top of the charts yet again with their friends the likes of Avicii, Claptone, Tiesto, Eric Prydz, and Armin Van Buuren coming forward to offer fresh perspectives on their fan favourites, ‘We Come 1’, ‘Insomnia’, ‘God is a DJ’ and more. Collaborations have always the hallmark of Faithless’ career, working with Robert Smith of The Cure, Dido, and Cat Power to name but a few.

With a career that Mixmag describes as “the stuff of legend”, Maceo Plex’s path to the top of the underground dance music scene has been nothing short of a musician’s mythical journey. From his expansive catalog of Techno heaters to IDM thinkers, his music has spanned across genres and redefined the dance music artist. He once held the number #1 spot in three different genres on the Beatport charts all at the same time, putting him in distinctive a league of his own.

A true devotee to the art of electronic music, Maceo Plex’s career is defined by a restless creativity. His appetite for creation and performance is not satisfied by one pseudonym, but by two more aliases Mariel Ito, and Maetrik Live, each having their own unique production & performance style. He regularly makes high profile appearances on the world’s biggest stages in places like Amsterdam, Berlin, Ibiza, New York and anywhere else the planet’s dance music elite gather.
