Jimmy Clash Interview

Dutch youngster Jimmy Clash has made his mark as one of the most promising talents in today’s scene. At just 24 years old, he has already proven his salt working on high profile collabs with the likes of KURA, Wolfpack, Tony Junior, Juicy M, and Ralvero, while receiving support from David Guetta and Hardwell on his debut Revealed Recordings release ‘Brutal’.

We caught up with Jimmy, and spoke to him about dealing with success,

T.H.E – Hey Jimmy! How’s it going? What have you been up to?

Jimmy Clash – Hi! It’s going super well. Spend a lot of time in the studio the past few weeks to finish up a lot of new projects. Currently, I’m planning a new track on a big record label at the end of November. Can’t wait for that!

T.H.E – Were you at ADE this year? How did it go?

Jimmy Clash – This year’s Amsterdam Dance Event was my most productive so far. I did a lot of interviews, live sets and met a lot of cool people. So great to see everyone sharing the same love and passion for electronic music is gathered in the same city for one week. If you weren’t there, you should definitely attend next year!

T.H.E – Given how much success you have already experienced, it’s hard to remember that you’re still 24. How do you deal with continuous pressure/expectation?

Jimmy Clash – To be honest, I haven’t felt any pressure so far. If I’m in the studio I’m just doing the same I always do: having fun. That’s the most important thing for me and also the reason why I started producing music. Sometimes before going on stage, I feel nervous, but eventually, it’s all just excitement.

T.H.E – Tell us about your collaboration with Kill The Buzz – Never Wanna Let You Go. How did that come about?

Jimmy Clash – The moment I received the vocal topline from my management I was in love with it. I started working on the song, making chords, adding the drums, etc. After a few weeks of working, I sent the project file to Kill the Buzz and we finished it up together. Eventually, the song was released on Protocol Recordings (the label of Nicky Romero) which was amazing!

T.H.E – How has 2019 been for you overall?

Jimmy Clash – It’s been a great year so far. Lots of releases on the biggest dance labels, lots of great club and festival shows. We’ve toured in countries like China, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Myanmar, Croatia, Slovenia and more. Performed on some huge festivals like Ultra Music Festival. And music production-wise I’ve also gained more knowledge to make my songs even better.

T.H.E – Lastly, what can you tell us about your upcoming plans?

Jimmy Clash – As I mentioned at the end of November I’m going to release a big song on a huge label, so I’m pretty excited about that. I’ve been really productive in the studio for the last few months. A lot of new music is finished, so you can expect that over the coming months. The future is looking bright, and I’m super excited about it!
