DJ and producer Duo Afro Bros have signed a brand-new deal with Spinnin’ Records following the success of their huge hit ’18 Plus.’
This will kick off a fresh phase in the duo’s careers and it is a big step for them to sign a deal with such a well-known label.
Comprised of Rashid Badloe and Giordano Ashruf, Afro Bros kicked off their DJ career around 2006. The duo has quickly made themselves known with their diverse, fresh range of musical styles, mixing latin house, afro house, moombahton, house and urban and also landing gigs at some of the most well-known clubs around Europe.
They soon decided to take the next step in their career by also deciding to produce their own tracks. They achieved success in that aspect in 2010 with ‘Dubbelfriss’, followed by more singles, remixes and bootlegs.
This resulted in the duo’s tracks and mixes amassing millions of worldwide streams and downloads.
They also received support from heavyweights of the industry, including Major Lazer, Diplo, DJ Chuckie, Hardwell and Carnage, and international tours in Europe and Africa to Asia and South America soon followed.
After five years of touring, Afro Bros were apparently messing around in the studio with a catchy tune that started off as a joke, and the result was the worldwide hit ’18 Plus.’ The video has already amassed over four million views and a Spanish version is scheduled to be released under the fresh record deal with Spinnin’ Records.
Speaking about the deal with Spinnin’ Records, the duo had this to say:
“It feels very great, we have reached a lot of targets in our careers and signing at Spinnin’ Records was definitely one of them! We’d like to continue to reach a worldwide audience with the unique music style we aim for. Starting with the Spanish version of ’18 Plus’ featuring Ghetto Flow, released March 17th on Spinnin’ Records.”
