Charlotte De Witte Tops DJ Mag Alternative Top 100 List For the Second Year In A Row

For the second consecutive year, Charlotte de Witte topped the DJ Mag Alternative Top 100 list for 2021. Last year, de Witte claimed the top spot by dethroning the legend Carl Cox who held the spot for 2 years since the list was started in 2018.

While the main Top 100 DJs poll is still dominated by EDM and trance DJs, the alternative poll shines a light on the DJs playing sounds on the periphery of the global poll in recent years, despite commanding huge audiences worldwide mentioned DJ Mag.

In addition to topping this chart, de Witte moved up 9 places on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s main list, once again claiming the Highest Techno DJ award.

This year in a sign of an increased gender balance on the Alternative Top 100 DJ’s list, there were 10 women in the top 20, making up for 50% which in the past was unheard of. These included de Witte leading on the top followed up Peggy Gou at no. 5, Amelie Lens at no. 6, and Nina Kraviz at the 8th spot as reported by Your EDM.

Some of the new entries to the list this year included Sub Focus, Jayda G, and Paul Woolford among others.

In celebration of her topping the Alternative Top 100 DJ’s chart, de Witte shared a brand new livestream from Lisbon just hours ago. Enjoy the hour-long set below.
