MSI, a world leader in gaming hardware and computing solutions, announced a virtual Minecraft music festival with Mad Zoo Events and Hospital Records featuring a live set by Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Mat Zo on Saturday, August 22, at 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. ET / 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. PT.
WHAT IS IT?
The live, digital show will also include performances and new song releases by other popular artists and DJs, exclusive in-game items from MSI and Hospital Records, and artist merch shops, all in an interactive, underwater Minecraft realm. HOSPITALITY IN THE VOID marks the second Minecraft festival hosted by Mad Zoo Events this summer, the first which featured an exclusive preview of songs from his upcoming album and in-game effects that synchronized with the music.
Mat Zo’s debut album, “Damage Control,” took inspiration from UK garage, hip hop, and trance, and was nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category in 2014. Based in LA, the music producer and DJ’s work includes collaborations and remixes for Halsey, Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding, Empire of the Sun, 311, Arty, Porter Robinson, Kill the Noise, The Knocks and Disney. He is known for hits such as “See It When I Believe It,” “Love Songs” and “Tracing Steps.” Mat has toured globally and has performed at some of the most popular music festivals including Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland and Creamfields.
“I wanted to create a communal experience where people who are passionate about live music can get a taste of a real show,” said Mat Zo of Mad Zoo Events. “I’ve been playing Minecraft for years and have been wanting to throw this kind of event, but the pandemic was definitely the catalyst.”
TICKETS
General admission tickets are on sale now for £8/approx $10 here. A Campsite Upgrade can be purchased for £4/approx $5 to access the festival campgrounds where artists will hold virtual meet and greets. A General Admission + Campsite Bundle is also available for £11/approx $14 USD.
All attendees will enjoy a live chat with a party system so friends can meet up and interact during the show, as well as mysterious creatures, shops and bars with in-game items like costumes and party favours, and artist merch. Doors open 30 minutes before the show, giving players access to explore the new, immersive world. During each artist’s performance at the water-filled sphere stage, attendees will experience live, visual effects that sync to the music for a unique music event experience.
