“And Just Like That” Fans Furious With Carrie Bradshaw’s Bombshell Revelation

Fans of Sex and The City were thrilled when HBO announced they’d be reviving the iconic series yet again.

The empowering Darren Star hit encompasses the lives of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, as they navigate friendship as well as romance along the bustling streets of Manhattan.

While the girls ultimately decide they are each other’s soul mates, one of the most prominent storylines on Sex and the City is Carrie’s tumultuous relationship with Mr. Big. Every other episode centers around the trials and tribulations between the on-again-off again couple, portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth.

Carrie Bradshaw Big mistake

Although it’s widely agreed upon that their relationship is t.o.x.i.c, there’s no denying how entertaining their messiness is for viewers. We spent the entirety of Sex and the City watching Carrie as she tripped over herself to win over the elusive Mr. Big. Sure, it was cringeworthy and often desperate, but we as fans were all on that journey together. In the end, when Big finally told Carrie “You’re the one” in the season 6 finale, it felt like a big payoff for viewers. After years of Carrie’s quest to win Big over, it all turned out to be worth it in the end.

Yet one bombshell quote from Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That seemed to take that entire storyline from the original series, and throw it all in the trash. And guess what? Fans are NOT having it.

Carrie Bradshaw Calls Big a Mistake on And Just Like That

In season 2 of And Just Like That, Carrie and her former boyfriend Aidan rekindle their romance after decades apart. It’s truly endearing for fans of the series to watch the two come together again after all those years. Yet does their revived romance have to come at the expense of tearing down her relationship with Big?

Carrie shocked fans on And Just Like That, when she said, “I made a mistake,” in regards to choosing Big over Aidan. Unsurprisingly, this ticked off fans, who felt it was a disservice to the original series.

“I hate HATE how they are dismantling Carrie’s love and view on Big,” one Reddit user commented on the And Just Like That Subreddit. “Whatever happened before their marriage, I understand. But it seemed that Carrie and Big had a loving and happy marriage, and Big was the love of her life.” The commenter continued, writing, “Now Carrie is acting like Aidan was the love of her life. Like girl, you literally had a chance to marry him but didn’t because of Big. I totally like how she’s moving on, and she’s find love. But why do it at the expense of her feelings of her dead husband?”

Other fans agreed, saying it was a total disservice to the original narrative. “I was very offended and annoyed by this,” another user wrote about Carrie’s statement. “Such bs from the AJLT writers. And it’s so disrespectful to her husband of almost 20 years.”
