Brad Everett Young, renowned for his roles on Grey’s Anatomy and as a successful celebrity photographer, died at 46.
The former actor turned photographer died on Monday, September 15, after he was involved in a traffic accident in Los Angeles and suffered severe injuries.
As reported by his publicist, Paul Christensen, the accident happened late Sunday, Sept. 14, on the 134 Freeway. Young’s car was hit by another vehicle that was driving in the wrong direction. He died the next day.
Young started his Hollywood acting career in notable roles for TV shows such as Charmed, Numb3rs, Felicity, and the popular medical drama show Grey’s Anatomy. His contribution to films included appearances in Jurassic Park II in 1997 and the 2000 blockbuster Charlie’s Angels.
More recently, the Virginia native transitioned his professional focus to photography, becoming a respected household name on Hollywood’s red carpets. He had his photography featured in top publications including Vanity Fair, People, and Vogue. Young took powerful portraits of celebrities like David Harbour and Sarah Michelle Gellar, firmly establishing himself as one of the entertainment world’s most sought-after photographers.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Young committed himself to activism as well. He co-founded Dream Loud Official, a grassroots endeavor focused on restoring and preserving arts programs in schools nationwide. The effort worked to motivate students, educators, and artists to provide creative opportunities for all.
“Brad’s love for the arts and the artists behind them was unparalleled,” Christensen stated. “He did his thing of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will live on through Dream Loud Official.”
Funeral plans for Young have not yet been released. His family has requested privacy and prayers as they mourn the loss of a dear son, friend, and artist.
Brad Everett Young has left behind a legacy that is not just about his on-screen performances and renowned photography but also about how he kept creativity on the agenda for generations to come.
