Sean “Diddy” Combs was slammed in federal court as the violent ringleader of a criminal empire who “doesn’t take no for an answer,” according to prosecutors delivering closing arguments in his bombshell trial.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik didn’t hold back as she painted the music mogul as a man who thrived on intimidation, manipulation, and raw power to get whatever he wanted.
Speaking to the jury on Thursday, June 26, Slavik called Combs “the leader of a criminal enterprise” and claimed he used “power, violence and fear” as tools to control those around him. She went on to outline disturbing allegations tied to the charges he’s facing, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
One major incident highlighted was the infamous 2016 hotel assault involving singer Cassie Ventura, who previously dated Combs and has long accused him of violence. Slavik also brought up another disturbing account from a woman referred to only as “Jane,” who testified earlier in the trial. According to the prosecutor, Jane was not only physically assaulted by Diddy, left with visible welts, but also later forced into a traumatic sex act involving a male escort despite saying no multiple times.
Slavik told the jury that Diddy’s empire wasn’t just about music and money, it was about domination. “It’s his kingdom,” she said. “Everyone was there to serve him.” She explained that racketeering charges exist for a reason, to stop individuals who commit crimes not in isolation, but as part of an organized and protected group. “The concept is simple,” she explained. “When someone commits a crime as part of a group, what the law calls an ‘enterprise’, they’re more powerful and more dangerous.”
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. But with this trial now reaching its end, the stakes couldn’t be higher. If convicted of racketeering or sex trafficking, the 54-year-old music mogul could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The jury is expected to begin deliberating after closing arguments wrap on Friday. The courtroom has been tense and emotionally charged throughout the proceedings, as witnesses recalled graphic and painful details of alleged abuse, violence, and coercion tied to Diddy’s inner circle.
Combs has long denied all wrongdoing. But as the prosecution closes with the image of a man obsessed with control, fame, and unchecked power, his fate now lies in the hands of the jury.
