Doctor Odyssey Crew Blows Whistle On Disney Set Scandal

The behind-the-scenes of Doctor Odyssey just turned into a legal storm.

Three former Doctor Odyssey crew members have officially sued Disney and 20th Century Studios, alleging a toxic and sexually harassing work environment that led to their wrongful termination. Caroline Mack, Alicia Haverland, and Ava Steinbrenner filed the lawsuit on Friday, May 30, in Los Angeles, claiming they were subjected to nonstop harassment on set and later punished for speaking up about it. The complaint, obtained by PEOPLE, accuses the production of fostering what they call an “unlawful den of sexual harassment and retaliation.”

According to the lawsuit, the three women were hired in 2024 to work in the show’s props department. They allege that assistant prop master Tyler Patton, along with what they call his “male buddies”, harassed them with nonstop inappropriate sexual behavior. Meanwhile, Tyler’s wife, Tammie Patton, who was the department head, allegedly did nothing to stop it. In fact, the suit claims she retaliated once the women began speaking up about the behavior.

The filing describes a disturbing workplace where sexual jokes, crude gestures, graphic comments, and even unwanted touching were regular occurrences. One particularly shocking allegation states that Tyler openly grabbed a visiting female employee’s butt on set. The women say these comments were made constantly and always in their presence. Management, according to the lawsuit, just looked the other way.

When one crew member told Tyler to cut it out, he allegedly responded with, “That’s the way it is here, if you don’t like it, go work at Home Depot.” That statement alone sums up the tone of what the women say was daily verbal abuse filled with vulgar references to sexual acts, including anal prolapse and BDSM practices. They say they made it very clear the behavior made them uncomfortable, but nobody in charge took it seriously.

The complaint also claims that Disney and 20th Century Studios should never have hired Tyler in the first place. He had reportedly faced similar allegations while working on the set of House, including harassment, intoxication, and having sex on set. Despite that history, he was still brought onto Doctor Odyssey, which the plaintiffs argue shows negligence in hiring and supervision.

The retaliation, the lawsuit claims, got worse after the women started pushing back. Tammie Patton allegedly began screaming at them, piling on more tasks as punishment, and threatening their jobs. Eventually, the women say management tried to cover things up by manufacturing a layoff of the props department to silence the complaints. They argue their firing was not just unfair, it was illegal and directly tied to their decision to speak up about the harassment.

This legal drama casts a dark shadow over Doctor Odyssey, a star-studded series created by Ryan Murphy and starring Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson, Phillipa Soo, and Sean Teale. None of the actors or Murphy himself are mentioned in the lawsuit, and the allegations seem squarely aimed at the props department leadership and the companies behind the production.

As of now, Disney and 20th Century Studios haven’t issued any public comment. But with the lawsuit drawing attention to some deeply troubling claims, there’s mounting pressure for the companies to respond. For Caroline Mack, Alicia Haverland, and Ava Steinbrenner, the goal is clear: to hold the studio accountable for what they say was months of unchecked harassment, retaliation, and illegal firing practices.

This isn’t the first time the entertainment industry has been rocked by lawsuits like this, and if the details are accurate, it certainly won’t be the last. The Doctor Odyssey crew members’ lawsuit is just beginning, but it’s already drawing major headlines and sparking fresh conversations about workplace safety in Hollywood, especially behind the scenes.
