Dolly Parton has announced she’s delaying her forthcoming Las Vegas concerts in December at Caesars Palace due to health issues.
The country legend broke the news directly to fans via social media, stating that doctors have ordered her to have a series of procedures that will not allow her to prepare and rehearse for the residency on schedule. The performances, previously scheduled to take place from December 4 to December 13, 2025, have now been rescheduled to September 2026.

“I would like the public and fans to know firsthand from me that, regrettably, I am going to have to reschedule my future Las Vegas concerts,” Parton said in her emotional announcement. “As many of you are aware, I have been working on some medical issues, and my doctors inform me that I need to get some procedures done.”. As I kidded around with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, but not the standard visit to my plastic surgeon!
Though Parton put her own brand of humor on the message, she made clear that she does not take her role to fans lightly. “On the serious side, because of this, I won’t be able to rehearse and provide for you the show that I want you to see, and the show that you want to see. You pay top dollar to see me perform, and I want to be my best for you.” The news follows just a couple of months on from when she revealed plans for her much-anticipated six-show Dolly: Live in Las Vegas residency.
The concert was advertised as a “hit-driven concert event” and would have been her initial official series of concerts since the conclusion of her Pure & Simple tour in 2016. Fans were ready to get an opportunity to watch the legendary artist back on stage, particularly in an environment as big as Caesars Palace. While the news would be a letdown to most, Parton assured her fans that she is not retiring. “Though I’ll still be able to work on all my projects here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say,” she said. “And don’t you worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”. But, I think He is saying I need to slow down at this moment so I can be prepared for even greater big adventures with all of you.
I love you and thank you for being able to understand.”
Her phrasing emphasizes both her commitment to her art and her strong bond with her listeners, who have stood by her for years. Even in delay, Dolly couched the reality as a chance to focus on her health without abandoning her plans ahead.
For the time being, the priority will be on her recuperation and carrying on with the different projects that she has on hand from her home in Nashville.
