At every Kansas City Chiefs game, one seat is always saved for Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s biggest supporter.
While fans are used to seeing the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker photographed on her way into Arrowhead Stadium, her absence from arrival photos on Sept. 14 sparked curiosity about whether she attended the team’s first home game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite the speculation, E! News confirmed that Taylor was in fact at the game, cheering for her fiancé as the Chiefs returned to home turf. This appearance comes just weeks after the couple announced their engagement on Aug. 26 with a joint Instagram post, captioned with a playful nod to their professions: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Taylor’s connection to the Chiefs runs deeper than just supporting Travis. During her appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s popular podcast New Heights, the singer revealed that Kansas City head coach Andy Reid may have played a surprising role in bringing the couple together. She explained that her father, Scott Swift, has been friends with Reid for years, and the coach had attended several of her concerts.
“I didn’t really know what sports he was coaching, but I knew that was my dad’s friend Andy Reid,” Taylor recalled. “I now know that he is the most iconic, legendary coach of all time.” She added that Reid “vouched” for Travis, giving her family and friends another reason to encourage the romance. “My cousins were like, ‘Please please please, he’s amazing,’” Taylor shared. “There were so many people whispering in my ear about you, and that’s not normal.”
As for what sparked their connection, Taylor admitted that Travis’s patience stood out. She confessed she knew nothing about football when they started dating. “I didn’t know what a first down was. I didn’t know what a tight end was,” she said with a laugh. But Travis never judged, something Taylor deeply appreciated.
“You’re so nonjudgmental, and I loved that about you,” she told him on the podcast. Travis echoed her feelings, saying, “I am forever thankful for you diving into the football world whole-heartedly.”
Taylor didn’t just learn the basics, she fell in love with the game. “I became obsessed with it,” she admitted. “My friends were like, ‘Who body snatched you?’”
For now, fans can rest assured that Taylor Swift is not only present at Travis Kelce’s games but also fully immersed in both football culture and her new chapter with the Chiefs star.
