Halle Bailey has officially filed for a temporary restraining order against DDG, and the details are heavy.
The 25-year-old Little Mermaid star, who shares a 19-month-old son named Halo with the rapper (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), is accusing him of abuse just six months after their split. According to legal docs obtained by People, Halle claims DDG has been emotionally abusive, publicly manipulative, and even physically violent during their relationship – and she’s done trying to keep it quiet.
In her filing, Halle says she’s reached a breaking point: “I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer.” She claims the YouTuber-turned-rapper uses his massive platform to spread lies about her, stirring up hate and online threats. “Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans,” she said. “He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men.” She says these accusations are completely false – but they still spark waves of harassment from his followers.
The restraining order request includes some serious receipts. Halle submitted photographic evidence showing a chipped front tooth and a deep bruise on her bicep, allegedly inflicted during their time together. She also attached a text she says she sent to DDG, pleading with him to stop the drama and false claims while she was trying to enjoy Mother’s Day. “Are u not tired of harassing me?” she wrote. “I’m in St. Lucia having fun with Shermay and Chloe, not with any man… I told ur mom I was gonna be with my sister.”
Now, Halle’s asking the court to grant her full custody of baby Halo. She’s planning to take him to Italy for two months while she films a new movie, and she’s making it clear this trip is strictly professional. She’s lined up family support and a nanny to help care for Halo while she’s working. But her bigger concern? Protecting her child from the toxic online chaos DDG keeps fueling.
She’s also asking the judge to block DDG from posting anything about her or their son on social media. She specifically listed platforms like YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), saying he uses them to fan the flames of false accusations. “He creates a fan frenzy by making false claims about me,” she said in the documents. “This has caused me to feel afraid and victimized.” The harassment has even turned into a disturbing trend online, with DDG’s supporters pushing the hashtag #FreeHalo.
Halle says the emotional toll has been brutal. “I am often scared for my life and Halo’s safety,” she wrote. Her statement paints a picture of a young mother doing everything she can to protect her peace, her child, and her sanity – even while her ex continues to spin a dangerous narrative to millions of fans.
It’s a heartbreaking and messy situation, and Halle’s request for a restraining order makes one thing clear: she’s not staying silent anymore.
