Hilaria Baldwin’s Mother’s Day update is giving fans another glimpse into the chaos and sweetness of life with her huge family. The 41-year-old fitness influencer, who’s been married to Alec Baldwin since 2012, says what she truly loves most about the day isn’t the big gestures, it’s the little ones.
In a short and sentimental Instagram Reel shared on Mother’s Day 2025, Hilaria said, “I think one of my favorite parts of Mother’s Day is watching them try to be secretive while they make cards for me. They are so excited, and their energy of trying to surprise me melts my heart.” And honestly, with the size of the Baldwin crew, that kind of quiet joy probably doesn’t happen too often.

The clip she posted included sweet footage of the handmade cards, flowers, and tiny gifts from her children as they celebrated the day together. And by children, we mean a full-on squad. Hilaria and Alec share seven kids together, three daughters: Carmen Gabriela (11), María Lucía Victoria (4), and Ilaria Catalina Irena (2), and four sons: Rafael Thomas (9), Leonardo Ángel Charles (8), Romeo Alejandro David (6), and Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas (4). Alec also has a 29-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
Hilaria has always been candid about the ups and downs of parenting, and in a 2023 chat with Romper, she hinted that Ilaria might be the last baby in the bunch. “I’m always afraid to say it. I was putting away my maternity clothes recently and was like, “I’m afraid to give them away because then I’ll find out I’m pregnant’,” she joked. She even revealed that her OB has been dropping hints for a while. “Every single time I have a baby, my OB writes down the vasectomy doctor on a Post-It, and I bring it home to Alec. He hasn’t done it yet.”
Clearly, having a big family was never the plan, it just happened, and they’re rolling with it. Alec, now 66, seems to have embraced the parenting chaos. “I wouldn’t change anything,” he said. He joked about the life they could be living: “I always joke with [Hilaria] and say, ‘You know where I should be right now, don’t you? We should be on [music mogul David] Geffen’s yacht, drinking a cappuccino and reading a book, and having dinner with [director Steven] Spielberg or whatever.’” But Hilaria quickly cut in: “Instead we’re changing diapers!”
And that’s kind of the Baldwin vibe, full of love, a little sarcasm, and a lot of kids under one roof. Alec also reflected on how his parenting style has changed now that he’s older. “Everything has changed. I think when you’re her age and you have kids, and you get older, you get tougher,” he said. “For me, as I’m getting older and older, I don’t want to be tougher. I don’t want to be anything. I just want to be a father to my kids. I want to just watch and see what the years I have left have for us to experience and not have it be about me.”
It’s a softer side of Alec that fans don’t often get to see and a genuine look at what motherhood means to Hilaria, especially when you’ve got seven young kids bouncing around the house. It’s not the glam, the brunches, or even the flowers that stick with her, it’s her little ones whispering and hiding paper behind their backs, proud of the cards they made with glue, crayons, and all the love in the world.
