Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are going all out for their wedding, and the price tag is as sky-high as you’d expect.
The Amazon billionaire and his fiancée are throwing a no-expense-spared celebration in Venice, Italy, and the total cost? A jaw-dropping $46.5 to $55.6 million, according to Veneto regional president Luca Zaia. And that doesn’t even cover the priceless view of Venice’s Grand Canal.
The multi-day wedding festivities kicked off in style with a wild foam party aboard Bezos’ $500 million superyacht. The guest list is as elite as it gets, with A-listers like Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ivanka Trump making appearances. According to E! News, the invitation itself revealed the couple’s plans to donate on behalf of their guests to support Venice’s heritage and sustainability efforts.
Bezos, who’s worth an estimated $238 billion, per Bloomberg, is making a €1 million (about $1.2 million) donation to CORILA, an organization focused on preserving Venice’s lagoon ecosystem. He’s also contributing to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera and the UNESCO Venice Office to help protect the city’s cultural heritage. Another donation will go to the Venice International University to back research and education on sustainable development.
But the glam doesn’t stop at charity. The couple has gone full throttle on logistics too. They’ve booked a fleet of 90 private jets and 30 water taxis to ferry guests in and out of the city. And because regular hotel blocks just don’t cut it at a Bezos bash, they’ve reportedly reserved five luxury hotels entirely for their wedding entourage. Among them? The famous Hotel Cipriani, where George and Amal Clooney tied the knot in 2014.
While the ceremony details are still under wraps, the grand celebration is expected to hit its peak on June 28 at Venice’s historic Arsenale, a sprawling 12th-century naval complex turned dreamy event space.
Bezos and Sánchez clearly aren’t holding back, blending billionaire flair with cultural respect in one of the world’s most romantic cities. From yacht parties to sustainable pledges, this wedding is shaping up to be an event for the ages.
