Justin Bieber stirred up buzz after apologizing to his wife, Hailey Bieber, for a hurtful comment he made about her Vogue cover.
The 31-year-old singer took to Instagram on May 20, sharing photos from Hailey’s recent Vogue shoot, but it was his caption that caught everyone’s attention. In a rare moment of honesty, Justin revealed that during a big fight, he told Hailey she would “never be on the cover of Vogue.”
“Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight,” he wrote. “I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes, I know, so mean.” He admitted he said it out of feeling “so disrespected” and wanting to “get even.” But he quickly reflected on how those kinds of fights only damage what really matters. “I think as we mature, we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even,” Justin explained. “We’re honestly just prolonging what we really want, which is intimacy and connection.”
Ending his post, he begged for forgiveness: “So baby, you already know, but forgive me for saying you wouldn’t get a Vogue cover, cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.” Later on, Justin deleted this caption and replaced it with a string of emojis that included a shrug, a pointing finger, a heart hand gesture, and a teary-eyed face-leaving fans to interpret the mixed emotions.

Hailey opened up about the tough realities of postpartum life and her “scary” birth experience during the Vogue interview. She called postpartum “the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life” and shared how hard it is to face online rumors while adjusting to motherhood and a new version of herself. “Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult,” she said. “And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, ‘They’re getting divorced’ and ‘They’re this’ and ‘They’re not happy,’ it is such a mind-f—-.”
She added, “I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live.”
