Kaley Cuoco is officially back in action – and this time, she’s swapping sitcom laughs for dark mystery.
The Big Bang Theory alum, Kaley Cuoco, will lead Vanished, a brand-new thriller series for Prime Video alongside Peaky Blinders star Sam Claflin. The four-part series promises a suspense-filled ride that begins with a romantic getaway gone horribly wrong.
In Vanished, Cuoco plays Alice, a woman whose seemingly perfect trip to Paris spirals into chaos when her boyfriend Tom (Claflin) disappears without a trace aboard a train heading south. As Alice begins digging into his disappearance, she realizes she may not have known him at all. What follows is a tangled web of lies, danger, and high-stakes mystery.
Production is already underway in Marseille, France. The series is set to premiere in 2026 across Prime Video platforms in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Tushar Jindal, Prime Video UK’s Head of Content Acquisitions, teased: “With Kaley and Sam leading an incredible cast, this gripping thriller will keep viewers guessing at every turn.”
For Kaley Cuoco, “Vanished” marks a return to high-profile TV after the critically acclaimed Based on a True Story, which wrapped its two-season run in late 2024. She also recently starred in Role Play with David Oyelowo, but Vanished will be her first project since stepping back from the spotlight to focus on motherhood.
Now a mom to 18-month-old daughter Matilda, Cuoco has kept a relatively low profile with fiancé Tom Pelphrey – but the thrill of a role like Vanished was clearly too good to pass up.
Fans of the Emmy-nominated star might still associate her with Penny, the lovable neighbor-turned-wife on The Big Bang Theory, but Kaley says she’s open to bringing that character back too.
“I would absolutely reprise that role. 100%,” she told People. “I love that character, and I always will.”
But for now, it’s all eyes on Alice – and Vanished may just be Kaley Cuoco’s most intense role yet.
Stay tuned as more casting news and sneak peeks from the Vanished set roll in. One thing’s certain: Kaley Cuoco is back – and she’s bringing the drama.
