Katy Perry Reportedly Split With Orlando Bloom in January, Ditches Engagement Ring

Katy Perry has quietly removed her engagement ring, months after reportedly telling close friends that her split with Orlando Bloom was finalized months ago!

Despite keeping up appearances and delaying a public announcement, it seems the singer has finally made a bold statement, by removing her engagement ring. The couple, who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy, have been together since 2016 and got engaged in 2019, but sources now say they’ve been struggling for quite some time.

According to an insider, Katy Perry, 40, told friends earlier this year that her split with 48-year-old Orlando Bloom was essentially finished. While both were holding out hope things could improve for the sake of their daughter, their hectic work schedules have only added more distance. Katy is currently on her Lifetimes Tour in Australia, while Orlando has been busy filming his new project, Bucking Fastard, in Dublin.

And now, Orlando is heading solo to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s star-studded wedding in Italy a glaring sign of the couple’s current status. Katy will remain in Australia, fueling even more speculation after already stepping out without her iconic engagement ring.

“She knew that taking off her engagement ring would send a clear message,” the source explained. “It’s been a hard year so far. They wanted to wait until the tour was over before they made their split official, although Katy has grown tired of the situation.”

Friends were reportedly shocked when Katy opened up about their relationship troubles. “Everyone thought they were tighter than tight,” the source said. Their last public appearance was at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in March, and fans noticed that the couple failed to acknowledge each other on Valentine’s Day, the same day they got engaged six years ago.

Back in January, they had tough conversations about their future, but no firm decision was made. Reps for both stars have remained tight-lipped when asked for comment, both in February and more recently.

Katy seemed to hint at personal heartache during a Sydney performance when she was handed a pack of Tim Tams while singing her emotional 2008 track I’m Still Breathing. “This song is about a breakup, and this Tim Tam saved me,” she told the crowd, sparking fan speculation that the breakup was weighing heavy behind the scenes.

Despite the tension, Orlando recently flew to Australia to spend time with Katy and their daughter, possibly as a last attempt to reconnect. However, insiders say the couple’s relationship has been rocky for a long time and that the issues didn’t stem from rumored disagreements, like her Blue Origin space flight. “That’s nonsense,” the insider said. “The truth is that their relationship has been on shaky ground for a long time now. Going to space was a welcome distraction from what was going on, if nothing else.”

Both stars have previously experienced public breakups. Katy was briefly married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, while Orlando was married to supermodel Miranda Kerr, with whom he shares a 14-year-old son named Flynn.

Though they’ve been trying to hold it together for the sake of family, signs now point to a quiet separation that may soon be official. For fans who have followed their story since the infamous 2016 paddleboard moment, this ending is especially bittersweet.
