All eyes are on the Sex and the City cast as fans await the newest season of And Just Like That.
Yet unfortunately for Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York-Goldenblatt on the series, not all of the attention is favorable. According to the actress, who will be starring in season 3 of the Sex and the City revival series premiering May 29th, some of the scrutiny regarding her physical appearance is downright ageist. In fact, the rude comments she received across the web regarding her new look ultimately left Davis in tears.
Why Did Kristin Davis Cry From Rude Comments About Her Physical Appearance?
No one can deny the fact that Kristin Davis is stunning. Yet unfortunately, when you’re in the public eye on one of the most famous TV shows of all time, viewers are going to offer their unsolicited remarks, whether these stars like it or not. Understandably, this excessive amount of public scrutiny leads women in the spotlight to take drastic measures in order to maintain their looks for the camera.
But the 60-year-old actress admits she took the cosmetic work a little too far, when she went slightly overboard with filler injections. While she still looked lovely as usual, fans were quick to call out her physical appearance during the first two seasons of And Just Like That. These comments were so painful, that they caused Davis to burst into tears.
“I have done fillers and it’s been good and I’ve done fillers and it’s been bad,” she said when speaking to The Telegraph. “I’ve had to get them dissolved and I’ve been ridiculed relentlessly. And I have shed tears about it. It’s very stressful.”
Furthermore, while appearing on Today with Jenna and Friends, Davis expressed how hard it can be to watch old episodes of Sex and The City, since she doesn’t look like she did at 35, yet people expect her to. And in a way, so does she. But fortunately, acceptance has led Davis to find more security in the fact that her appearance is changing, and she’s now embracing the fact that she’s older.
What Can We Expect From Charlotte York-Goldenblatt in Season 3 of And Just Like That?
Charlotte York on Sex and the City spent the majority of the series yearning for the perfect family. Not only did she want a picturesque husband who could fulfill her romantic desires, but she also craved to be a mother more than anything in the world.
Fortunately, her dreams are fulfilled and then some, as we witness by the end of the series. But as Charlotte learns on And Just Like That, not all of her Rockwellian visions of family life are as simple as she once imagined. On the HBO Max series, Charlotte has to navigate the hurdles of raising two teenagers, who often pose as quite the handful. “We have some challenges,” Kristin Davis revealed on Good Morning America, referring to Charlotte’s story arc in season 3 of And Just Like That. “Charlotte’s got two kids, and they’re older and they’re always throwing her curveballs.” She adds that there’s a “shocking” challenge that Charlotte faces in season 3, yet she’s keeping it tight-lipped for now to avoid spoilers.
