It’s been 22 years, and they’re swapping bodies again! Disney has officially released the first teaser trailer for Freakier Friday, the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday.
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis return as the beloved mother-daughter duo, Anna and Tess Coleman, bringing back the magic, comedy, and chaos that made the original a fan favorite.
A Long-Awaited Reunion
Rumors of a sequel had been swirling for years, and in June 2024, Disney confirmed Freakier Friday was in production. The movie wrapped filming in August, with both Lohan and Curtis sharing their excitement on social media.
Lohan celebrated the final days on set with a heartfelt Instagram post: “The wonderful cast, crew, and everyone from @disneystudios have invested so much time and love into making this movie!” She also praised Curtis, calling her return to set “extra special.”
Who’s Returning? Who’s New?
Alongside Lohan and Curtis, several familiar faces from the original 2003 movie are back, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
New additions to the cast include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons. Lohan revealed at D23 that Jacinto plays her husband in the film, adding a fresh dynamic to the story.
