Saturday Night Live (SNL) pulled out the big guns for its latest cold open, and this time, it was Mike Myers channeling his inner Elon Musk, with a heavy dose of Dr. Evil energy.

The sketch, which aired on March 8, featured James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, Marcello Hernández as Marco Rubio, and Myers as Musk, in a mock White House meeting where each character’s inner thoughts were hilariously exposed Curb Your Enthusiasm-style.

Elon Musk… Having Regrets?

The bit set up Musk as Trump’s “Secretary of Government Efficiency,” a role that’s apparently ruffling feathers among other cabinet members. Hernández’s Rubio wasn’t thrilled, telling Trump he’d been busy “retaking the Panama Canal.” But Trump, played by Johnson, was more interested in rambling about The White Lotus and why Thailand looks “beautiful.”

When it came time for Musk’s inner monologue, Myers delivered the goods. His Musk reflected on whether taking the job was a massive mistake, worrying about his tanking Tesla stock and the $100 billion drop in his personal net worth. But it was the moment he raised his pinky to his mouth, a nod to his iconic Dr. Evil character, that had fans cracking up.

SNL’s 50th Season is Pulling Big Names

This season of SNL has already brought some heavy hitters back into the fold, and Myers is just the latest alumni to make a splash. The Lady Gaga-hosted episode leaned into nostalgia while keeping things fresh, proving SNL still knows how to blend pop culture with political satire.

With Musk remaining a polarizing figure and the 2024 election cycle still fueling endless comedy, expect SNL to keep the high-profile impersonations coming. But the big question is, does Myers’ Musk have more Dr. Evil moments in store?
