Paris Hilton on Fame, ADHD, and Singing in the Shower

Paris Hilton might be known for her glitzy lifestyle and glamorous public persona, but behind the fame, she insists she’s always been a down-to-earth girl.

At 44, Paris credits her level-headed nature to the values her parents instilled in her from an early age.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Paris shared how her family’s influence helped shape her into someone who’s been able to handle fame without letting it change who she is. “I feel as though I’ve been the same my whole life. My parents instilled a strong work ethic in me from when I was very young and that has always kept me grounded,” she said.

Paris recalled a conversation with her mom that stuck with her since her early fame. “I remember when the very first Simple Life episode aired, my mom took me aside and told me that my life was about to change forever but that I should never stop being the same down-to-earth girl I am. I’ve never forgotten that.”

That advice clearly made a lasting impression. Even with a multi-decade career that spans music, fashion, fragrances, DJing, and reality TV, Paris Hilton grounded herself by focusing on creativity and staying true to her roots.

She explained, “I love making entertainment. I love making products. I love being creative and making people happy. That is what I’ve tried to do my whole career.” Her passion has translated into success across different industries, and Paris isn’t planning to slow down anytime soon. “I feel lucky that I’ve been able to do everything and be successful at it at the same time,” she added.

Paris also continues to celebrate her own musical milestones. Back in 2006, she released the single Stars Are Blind, and almost two decades later, it remains close to her heart. “I was actually just singing it in the shower this morning because it’s the most iconic pop song ever made. My favourite song,” she told Us Weekly.

Beyond music and business, Paris Hilton has been candid about her ADHD, which she says plays a big part in how her brain never stops working. “I have ADHD so my brain does not stop moving, and I’m always thinking of ideas,” she shared.

That constant creative buzz often keeps her up late at night, even though her husband Carter Reum is more of an early sleeper. “I’m such a night owl even if I’m trying to go to bed. So it depends. If I have to wake up at like six in the morning for work the next day, I will force myself to go to sleep at 11 or 12. But some nights I just cannot sleep and I love watching TV.”

Whether she’s working on a new product line or singing in the shower, one thing is clear, Paris Hilton may be a pop culture icon, but staying grounded is her real power move.
