Sabrina Bryan is all about a Cheetah Girls reboot, and honestly, who isn’t? Fans have been begging for a reunion for years, and now it looks like the OG cast might actually be open to it.
In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE at iHeartRadio’s 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango, Bryan didn’t hold back. “I would love to,” she said when asked if she’d return to her role as Dorinda “Do” Thomas. “I would love to get more of the Cheetah message out there because I’ve just seen what it’s done so far already.” And just like that, the Cheetah Girls reboot dream feels more real than ever.
Back in 2003, The Cheetah Girls made its debut on Disney Channel and instantly became a pop culture moment. The cast, Sabrina Bryan, Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, and Kiely Williams, played four girls chasing their music dreams while staying true to friendship, sisterhood, and themselves. It wasn’t just a hit movie, it had a killer soundtrack that hit the Billboard charts and turned the cast into real-life recording artists. That success led to two sequels: The Cheetah Girls 2 in 2006 and The Cheetah Girls: One World in 2008. But since then, fans have been left waiting (and begging) for a reunion.
And it’s not just nostalgia talking. Bryan’s character Dorinda hit home with a lot of viewers. She had a raw, emotional storyline, growing up in foster care, not knowing where her mom was, and struggling to find her identity. That kind of honesty stuck with people. “A lot of [fans] talk about the idea of their storyline being close to hers,” Bryan shared. “I’ve had a lot of people come up and just say, ‘How you were just so strong in the movies and that didn’t stop you’ is something that really inspired them.” That impact is one of the big reasons she’s so on board for a reboot.
Raven-Symoné is also on the same page. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight last year, she reflected on the cultural weight of the original films. “Another moment in culture that gave girl power, that gave fashion, that gave songs, I’m very blessed to be a part of that,” she said. Raven also hinted that a reunion could seriously matter for today’s generation. “It’s going to be interesting to see what the future holds in regards to the Cheetah Girls,” she added. “If something happened where the Cheetah Girls came back together on screen, a whole new generation of women would be able to witness the importance of girl community.”
She’s not wrong. The world could use more of that energy, fierce girl friendships, unity, and empowerment. And if the Cheetah Girls reboot brings that same spark to a new audience, it could be just as iconic now as it was then.
Even Adrienne Bailon-Houghton already has a reboot plot cooking in her head. According to her, the story could focus on the original girls as moms, keeping that strong generational connection going. “Raven and I would now be the parents,” she told PEOPLE. “Our mothers in the film were best friends, and then we were best friends. So I think it would be interesting to see it now, her and me as the moms, possibly.” Can you imagine the drama, the music, and the full-circle moments that storyline could bring? Fans would eat it up.
The best part? There’s zero bad blood between the core cast members, and everyone seems to be feeling that same wave of love for what they created. Each actress brings her own unique voice and energy to the reboot conversation, and the chemistry is still there, even years later.
Sure, Disney hasn’t officially said anything yet, but with this much buzz coming from the original cast, the dream of a Cheetah Girls reboot doesn’t feel so far off anymore. The love is there, the fans are ready, and the legacy still hits hard. As Sabrina Bryan said herself, “I would love to.” And honestly, so would we.
