The jaw-dropping moment occurred during the latest Ghost Adventures episode titled Hollydale Asylum of Hell. The episode, which focused on an abandoned medical complex, took a dark real-world turn when Goodwin received an alarming notification on his phone mid-filming.
“Dude,” he said while staring at his phone in disbelief. “Bro, the police are at my house.” Moments later, he stepped outside to take a call. Host Zak Bagans then informed viewers that the show would not air any more footage, explaining that “it is at this moment that Aaron receives a call from the police that his wife has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder by hiring a hitman to have Aaron killed.”
Authorities confirmed that Goodwin’s wife, Victoria Goodwin, was arrested on March 6 on two felony charges – solicitation to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder. According to a criminal complaint obtained by USA Today, Victoria had allegedly conspired with a man through cellphone communications to have Aaron killed, even providing his location and funds to carry out the crime.
Aaron filed for divorce just one week after her arrest.
Victoria later pleaded guilty and received a 36 to 90-month prison sentence. During the hearing, she expressed remorse, saying she was “so immensely sorry for the pain and anxiety I have caused you” and that she is “consumed with regret every day.” She admitted to feeling “ashamed” and “disappointed” in herself for what she had done.
Aaron, on the other hand, described the ordeal as the most terrifying experience of his life. “This situation has led me to fear for my life,” he said in a statement. “I can’t trust anything anymore. I cry every day, I feel so alone. She turned me into a person I never was.”
Investigators uncovered the murder plot through text messages and Facebook chats between Victoria and a Florida inmate. In one chilling exchange, she allegedly asked, “Am I a bad person because I chose to end his existence? Not divorce.”

On October 20, Aaron shared another emotional update with fans, saying he’s “not doing good at all” and that “everyday is worse with all I’m learning all the time.” He went on to say, “I just want the divorce to be over so I can move on with my life. This has been the worst year of my life.”
The episode has since gained massive attention, with fans offering support and sympathy for the longtime Ghost Adventures investigator. What started as a routine paranormal investigation turned into a chilling real-life horror that left Aaron shaken to his core.
