South Park Season 27 Episode 3: Release Time And Where To Watch

“South Park” returns with a brand-new episode, and fans don’t have long to wait.

Following a brief hiatus in order to mark the show’s 28th anniversary, Season 27 resumes with Episode 3, delivering more off-the-wall comedy and political commentary. Whether you tune in live on Comedy Central or on Paramount+, here’s all you need to know about when and where to watch the next one.

When is South Park Season 27 Episode 3 released?

South Park Season 27 Episode 3 will air on Wednesday, August 20, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. Similar to past seasons, the series continues its decades-long tradition of airing episodes mid-week, and fans won’t want to miss it to catch up on Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s new satirical response to what’s happening now.

If you can’t watch it live, don’t fret, the episode will also be available for streaming the next morning. The episode will premiere on Thursday, August 21, at 6 a.m. ET / 3 a.m. PT, providing subscribers with the opportunity to watch whenever it best suits their timeline.

Where to watch South Park Season 27

New episodes of South Park are first broadcast on Comedy Central, the network where the show has been available since it premiered in 1997. Comedy Central is still the place where fans can enjoy the latest episodes in real time.

For streaming, Paramount+ is the only home of South Park episodes following their initial airing. Subscribers will be able to stream Episode 3 as soon as Thursday morning. Paramount+ has two levels of subscriptions:

Paramount+ Essential – $7.99/month, includes access to thousands of titles and movies plus live NFL on CBS (with reduced ads).

Paramount+ Premium – $12.99/month, adds all of Essential plus Showtime originals, blockbuster movies, and live TV with reduced ads.

These plans allow viewers to pick the one that suits their viewing best.

Season 27 so far: political satire at its sharpest

Since its debut on July 23, 2025, Season 27 has already reminded audiences why South Park remains television’s most provocative comedy. Its opening two episodes targeted the White House, taking jabs at President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. In typical style, the show combined piercing political satire with outrageous behavior from Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny.

The season then halted for a moment after Episode 2, which aired on August 6. Rather than returning immediately, Comedy Central promoted August 13 as “South Park Day” with a marathon of old fan-favorite episodes to mark the show’s 28th birthday. This one-time programming hiatus merely served to build excitement for the release of Episode 3.

What to look forward to in Episode 3

Though Comedy Central hasn’t said much regarding Episode 3’s plot, veteran viewers understand South Park excels at being surprising. Having been known to cover politics, popular culture, and incendiary news headlines, viewers can anticipate the new installment to have sharp wit with a timely punch.

With Parker and Stone’s rapid turnaround style of production, the series tends to mirror headlines practically in real time. That would mean that Episode 3 could very well respond to current political events, cultural controversies, or even skewer the entertainment industry itself.

Why South Park continues to be a cultural powerhouse

After almost three decades, South Park remains television’s most distinctive comedy show. The power of balancing off-color humor with biting social commentary has kept people tuning in throughout multiple generations. The willingness of the show to evolve with the times while maintaining its raunchy spirit means that every new season is fresh, even as it hits its 27th iteration.

Whether you’re watching live on Comedy Central or streaming on Paramount+, Episode 3 is shaping up to be another must-see moment for fans.

To recap:

Air Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2025

Time: 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central

Streaming Release: Thursday, August 21 at 6 a.m. ET on Paramount+

Pick up your chips, mark your calendars, and buckle up, because South Park Season 27 is not quite finished stirring the pot.
