Taylor Swift and her friendship with Blake Lively is officially done, and it’s not just a cooling-off period.
The pop icon has reportedly cut off her decade long friendship with the Gossip Girl star after being unwillingly pulled into Blake’s legal war with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. According to the Daily Mail, Swift now sees their bond as full of “red flags” and “not worth all the stress.”
A source told the outlet that Taylor regrets ever meeting Blake. “Although there have been good times during their relationship, the issues now concerning the Baldoni case have outweighed them,” the insider revealed. “When Taylor looks back at their friendship, she realises it wasn’t worth all the stress Blake put her through.”
And it looks like the final straw came when Blake’s legal mess spilled onto Taylor’s front porch. Blake sued Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation. In response, Baldoni filed a countersuit, and subpoenaed Taylor Swift. That’s when things went from awkward to toxic.
Taylor’s reps didn’t stay quiet. They issued a full statement denying any involvement with the film: “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”
With that, the singer made it clear she was being dragged into something she had zero to do with. And on May 22, Baldoni’s legal team officially dropped the subpoena, telling Page Six they “voluntarily received” the information they needed. But for Taylor, the damage was already done.
The source says Swift is “relieved” to be done with the whole situation, and the whole friendship. “She put up with Blake’s antics for too long because she’s a loyal friend. It took the It Ends With Us drama to finally get her to pull the trigger on it,” the insider shared. Apparently, Blake “always wanted to be the leader of the pack,” and Taylor was the one constantly stepping in to tone her down.
The drama didn’t just end with Blake. Taylor and her boyfriend Travis Kelce are also cutting ties with Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds. Kelce unfollowed Reynolds on Instagram recently, and according to the source, “Taylor and Travis are disgusted with Blake and Ryan and how they tried to use Taylor in their fight against Justin Baldoni.”
That same insider says the couple is “vowing their break from the acting couple is permanent.”
So now, Taylor Swift is done with Blake Lively for good, not just distancing, but completely cutting this friendship off. After years of close friendship, it’s a hard split, but Taylor is no longer tolerating unnecessary stress and drama in her life, especially when it involves being dragged into a courtroom fight she didn’t sign up for.
It’s pretty clear: Taylor isn’t looking back. She’s choosing peace, privacy, and people who don’t bring lawsuits and headlines with them. As far as she’s concerned, Blake’s era is officially over.
