President Donald Trump has reignited his feud with global pop icon Taylor Swift, this time claiming that she has lost her appeal since he publicly declared “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” late last year.
In a new post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” The statement, delivered without context or supporting facts, is the latest in a string of attacks he’s made against Swift following her endorsement of Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential race.

A Political Grudge Gone Personal
Trump’s hostility toward Swift appears to have intensified after she posted on Instagram in September 2024 that she would be voting for Harris, calling the then-candidate “a gifted leader” and saying she preferred “calm over chaos.” The post went viral and was widely credited with mobilizing a large segment of young voters.
Swift also criticized Trump’s team for circulating an AI-generated image falsely implying her support for him. Trump later dismissed concerns about the doctored image in a Fox Business interview, claiming it was “made up by other people.”
“She’ll Pay a Price”
In the months following Swift’s endorsement, Trump warned on Fox & Friends that she would “pay a price in the marketplace.” Friday’s post seems to be a continuation of that narrative, with Trump suggesting that his public disdain has diminished her cultural appeal, despite mounting evidence to the contrary.
Swift, who currently holds a net worth of $1.6 billion, remains one of the most influential artists in the world. Her Eras Tour broke global records by grossing over $2 billion, and she continues to dominate streaming platforms and the music charts. Her vinyl album “Lover (Live From Paris)” sold out in less than an hour earlier this year.
From Admiration to Vilification
Trump’s fixation on Swift has taken a bizarre turn considering his earlier comments about the singer. In Variety’s co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh’s book Apprentice in Wonderland, Trump described Swift as “very beautiful” and “very talented,” despite acknowledging her liberal views.
His recent comment that Swift is “no longer hot” has drawn criticism online, with many users slamming the post as petty, misogynistic, and inappropriate, especially coming from a presidential candidate.
What’s Really at Stake
Trump’s latest jab seems less about Swift’s popularity, she remains at the pinnacle of her career, and more about maintaining a political narrative that punishes dissent. By positioning her success as something he can diminish with words alone, Trump is once again testing the boundaries between political retaliation and personal obsession.
But Swift fans aren’t having it. Comments on social media lit up immediately, with phrases like “Taylor lives rent-free in his head” and “She’s hotter than ever” trending across platforms. If anything, Trump’s attention only reinforces her cultural relevance, and his own inability to let it go.
As for Swift? She has yet to respond. But based on her track record, it’s safe to say she’ll shake this one off too.
