So, it turns out all those whispers about a family feud between Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz? Yeah, there’s definitely some truth to them, and it all apparently started over a dress.
Yep, a wedding dress. An insider close to the Peltz family claims that drama first sparked back in 2022 when Nicola was set to marry Brooklyn Beckham and Victoria offered to design her gown. Nicola reportedly loved the idea and told Victoria she’d be honored to wear one of her originals. It was meant to be a sweet, sentimental touch to the big day. But things didn’t quite go as planned.
As the wedding date got closer, it allegedly became clear that Victoria wasn’t making the dress after all. What’s worse, she didn’t even tell Nicola herself, she supposedly called Nicola’s mom to break the news. Not exactly a warm gesture. And after that? Well, the whole thing kind of spiraled.
People quickly painted Nicola as some kind of diva for not wearing a Victoria Beckham dress, even though she’s supported the brand at tons of events. She’s been to Victoria Beckham fashion shows, rocked her pieces on red carpets, and even wore one of her designs for the premiere of her film Lola in February 2024. She also wore Victoria Beckham for her engagement photos with Brooklyn in July 2020, a yellow silk ruffled midi dress from the Spring/Summer 2020 collection. So, yeah, it’s not like she was avoiding the brand.
But then, of course, there’s always another side to the story. A second insider pushed back on the narrative, calling the wedding dress feud “far from the truth” and saying it’s just a tired attempt to frame Nicola as a victim. According to that source, the Beckhams have always kept things classy and above the drama, even though they’ve allegedly been on the receiving end of plenty of it. The source also said the Beckhams still love their son Brooklyn deeply, but things with Nicola have become “impossible.”
Nicola has denied any bad blood before. In a 2022 interview with Variety, she said that she had planned to wear a Victoria Beckham design, but the atelier couldn’t pull it off in time. “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it,” Nicola explained. She ultimately went with Valentino Haute Couture for the wedding, a stunning square-neckline gown with a cathedral-length train and matching lace gloves. Nicola worked on the dress with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli for an entire year and told British Vogue that choosing Valentino was a “no-brainer.”
But the drama didn’t stop there. Fast-forward to May 2025, and sources are still spilling new tea. One insider claims that Victoria allegedly hijacked a special moment at Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding, specifically their dance. Marc Anthony, who’s close to the Beckhams, had offered to perform as a wedding gift. But just before his song started, he reportedly called Victoria to the stage instead of Nicola, announcing her as “the most beautiful woman in the room.” Nicola was apparently devastated, left the room in tears, and felt like her big moment was completely overshadowed.
However, another guest who was actually at the wedding says that version of events is way off. According to them, Nicola and Brooklyn had their official first dance earlier in the night. The Marc Anthony performance happened later, when the party was more relaxed and everyone was just having fun. At that point, Victoria and Brooklyn danced, David and Harper joined in too, and it was all good vibes.
Still, people can’t ignore the fact that Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from David Beckham’s early 50th birthday bash in March. A source confirmed that they were definitely invited, but “tensions” between Nicola and the family might’ve kept them away. And now, even though everyone insists the relationship isn’t beyond repair, things clearly aren’t as picture-perfect as they look on Instagram.
Whether it really was about a dress or something deeper, the Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz feud has taken on a life of its own. It’s become one of those celeb family sagas that refuses to go away, mostly because the facts keep changing depending on who you ask. But one thing’s for sure, it all started with a dress that never got made.
