Prince William and Prince Harry are no longer on speaking terms.
Several factors have led to the two severing ties, yet one of the major causes of their rift began shortly after Harry started dating Meghan Markle. Unfortunately, the brothers once got into such a nasty fight over Harry’s one true love, that it ended in blood and bruises. What led to such a violent brawl between the royal figures?
Prince William Became Wary Of Meghan Markle After Whispers About Her Mistreatment of Royal Staff
According to Real Royalty, Prince William wasn’t the biggest fan of Meghan Markle after learning the former “Suits” star had reduced several staff members at the royal household to tears.
“There were rumors that Meghan was bullying some of the staff,” Real Royalty revealed. “Her method of working was not what they had been used to. Whether that was because she was American, whether it was because she was a movie star who treated people a different way, it was not what had happened in the past in the royal household. William, when he heard that some members of staff were being reduced to tears, or not enjoying their working life anymore… I think he got very angry. And he confronted Harry, and told him what was going on… and Harry was protective of Meghan.”
While The Prince of Wales was initially thrilled to add Meghan Markle as a part of the family, (he and Kate Middleton allegedly are obsessed with Meghan’s TV show, “Suits,”) things became sour between William and Meghan after these bullying rumors escalated.
Prince William Allegedly Attacked Prince Harry In A Bloody Brawl
As Prince Harry reveals in his memoir, “Spare”, Prince William had come over one day to his Notting Cottage, so he could confront his brother about Meghan Markle’s behavior. As Harry alleges, William began referring to Harry’s wife as “rude,” “difficult,” and “abrasive.” Of course, Harry was quick to defend his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, by saying William was just going along with the narrative dished out by the British press.
But eventually, the conversation got so heated that all the tension bubbled up into a bloody attack. According to Prince Harry, the future king launched at him. “He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor,” Harry wrote. “I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Afterward, Prince William allegedly told Harry not to tell Meghan about the incident. “You don’t need to tell Meg about this,” William allegedly told Harry.
“You mean that you attacked me?” Harry retorted.
“I didn’t attack you, Harold,” said William.
Yet it wasn’t until Meghan noticed all the bruises and cuts up Harry’s back, that she’d asked what had happened. Harry, who had no idea about the blood, eventually told her what went down. Of course, the incident left her with great sadness.
