A Brand-New Beginning for Emerging Artists with Kick & Bass Records Launch

Kick & Bass Records is officially here – and it represents yet another big step forward for Kick & Bass, the rapidly expanding international production collective founded by DJ/producer Westend a.k.a. Tyler Morris and Freddy Trier Christensen.

Starting as an isolation project aimed at providing young talent with production tutoring, it has blossomed into an artist development platform offering tutoring, feedbacqk, livestreams, and – and yes – not a beat drops without it nowadays – an entire record label.

The project began in 2020 with Morris delivering online production lessons. That pure love for teaching led to an online learning platform opening on Discord in 2021, with aspiring Tech House and House producers tuning in in numbers. Today, Kick & Bass has grown to be a thriving platform with more than 600 members, with artists getting production expertise and career guidance. Already, some members have seen millions of streams and have secured singing gigs.

But there was one question that kept popping up. That question was: “Where should these artists put out their music?”

That solution is Kick & Bass Records, and it’s like no label operating within the world of dance music today.

Unlike being a conventional label, Kick & Bass Records emerges directly from an existing infrastructure for mentoring. Artists will be able to join a community from which they can hone skills, build an artist identity, and eventually distribute music. As Morris explains, “It’s a complete 360° system – you learn, you grow, and then you get your music out all from within our family.” As he continues, “There are plenty of labels. But there isn’t anything that rolls mentoring, education, community, and a label all into one.”

The label will be launched with full support from prominent marketing agency CIRCA, who will bring world-class distribution and promotional support for our label. The releases will be rolled out on a monthly basis and will feature the best talent within our label lineup and genre, ranging from minimal grooves and house.

The first single, titled “Raw,” will be released on December 12 via ALP, which is a Tech House project from an artist who previously concentrated on techno. Up next are singles from June Wilder and Gotch. Both acts have been well-received among fans. Morris tried out a tune from June Wilder on a recent gig, and he verified it had impact: “It went off – straight into rotation.”

The thing that sets Kick & Bass Records apart is its engine. Every single release that they put out is promoted with a dedicated and tight-knit group of producers who will pre-save and share every single track. “Not every artist we sign will have a big following,” Morris explains. “But they all help promote each other. That’s the magic.”

And so, with the establishment of Kick & Bass Records, it begins. The site finally fulfills its end goal – and that’s offering everything from learning and mentoring, and then some. It’s a new dawn for young talent wanting to make it big as House and Tech House producers.
