Organic, deep, and progressive house tastemaker A.M.R returned to Monstercat today with his inspiring new single, “Smile”.

In cooperation with Kenya’s Maasai tribe, the track features field-recorded chants from the children in the tribal village communities, sprung from ancient traditions and rituals. The powerful tribal percussion is complemented by rich orchestral sounds, paying homage to the vibrant culture and musical heart of Africa.

A.M.R shares, “I started working on this track in 2017 but struggled to finish it. Recently, I was drawn back to it and ended up rewriting everything from scratch. I’ve always loved using vocal chants in my work, but with “Smile” I felt a much deeper connection between the vocals and the music itself. That powerful bond is most likely what kept me motivated to finish.”

The versatile producer hails from Qatar, where he grew up composing in his bedroom studio. His textural sound is inspired by worldly elements that lend themselves to beautiful chord progressions and transportive melodies.

Until recently diving into the deep and progressive house genres, A.M.R was lauded for his unique style of trance that attracted support from greats like Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, and Tiësto.

His previous stunning release, “Portrait of You,” immediately positioned him as an exciting addition to the label, earning new fans in Monstercat’s extensive community.
