Anyma and Layton Giordani Drop Dark Remix of “At Night”

Two of the most forward-pushing names in electronic music right now, Anyma and Layton Giordani, have teamed up for a powerhouse remix of Shakedown’s club classic “At Night,” due to drop on Defected Records this June 27, 2025.

This remix brings a deep, haunting vibe to the iconic early-2000s track and marks a major collab between two artists dominating the global stage in their own right.

Anyma, who has built a cult-like following with his futuristic vision and avant-garde aesthetics, continues to shape the modern electronic landscape with each release. Known for blending immersive visual art with cutting-edge sound, he’s previously worked with titans like John Summit, Ellie Goulding, FKA Twigs, and The Weeknd. His approach redefines what it means to be a “DJ” in the era of digital performance art.

For this remix, Anyma joins forces with longtime friend and US techno heavyweight Layton Giordani, who’s just come off a massive 2024 North American tour. Giordani’s high-octane sets and cinematic techno soundscapes have earned him global recognition, and pairing that energy with Anyma’s multi-sensory approach was bound to create magic.

Their take on “At Night,” originally released by Swiss duo Shakedown in 2002 and featuring the unforgettable vocals of Terra Deva, is nothing short of transformative. While the original became an enduring dancefloor anthem and has seen previous remixes by legends like Peggy Gou, Kid Crème, and Purple Disco Machine, this new version stands out for its brooding intensity and hyper-stylized production. It’s not just a remix, it’s a full-blown reimagining.

The dark, electronic pulses that drive the remix feel built for stadiums and massive stages, yet they maintain the soul of the original track. Terra Deva’s timeless topline, written with Mandrax (one half of Shakedown), still floats at the heart of it all, just now surrounded by futuristic textures that feel straight out of a sci-fi rave.

Fans can pre-save or pre-order the remix via Defected’s official link ahead of the June 27 release. For longtime dance music heads and new ravers alike, this one’s a must-add to your summer playlist.
