It’s returned and it’s flourishing, CamelPhat & Elderbrook’s GRAMMY-nominated chart-topping colossus ‘Cola’ has just received an enormous 2025 facelift from Ukrainian superduo ARTBAT, and it’s released August 8 on Defected Records.
If the original ‘Cola’ was trance-inducing, just wait until you’ve listened to this reimagining. ARTBAT have breathed new life into the classic tune and added the sort of festival-ready peak-time power that transforms a club anthem into a main stage banger.
Initially dropped in 2017, ‘Cola’ was a breakout single by any standard, it turned into a worldwide anthem. With Elderbrook’s ethereal voice and that indelible groove, it topped charts, rattled dancefloors, and gained a GRAMMY nomination for Best Dance Recording in 2018. It’s the type of song that left an everlasting mark on house music.
Fast forward to 2025, and it’s ARTBAT’s turn to give it new life. Recognized for cinematic soundscapes and voltage drops, the duo preserve Elderbrook’s haunting topline but construct a darker, more intense framework around it. The remix is a puncher with throbbing basslines, sweeping progressions, and timely breakdowns, essentially the type of song built to get thousands of people totally insane at once.
ARTBAT aren’t strangers to this kind of magic. Since being championed by names like Solomun, the duo’s rise has been unreal. They’ve piled up awards such as DJ Awards’ Artist of the Year and Mixmag’s Stars of the Year back in 2019. Their discography currently consists of originals with industry titans such as Armand van Buuren, Benny Benassi, and Vintage Culture, as well as remixes for such brands as Empire Of The Sun, MEDUZA, and The Chemical Brothers. In essence, they’re the remixers you turn to when you want to shake the ground.
And that’s just what they’ve done with ‘Cola’. This remix isn’t just tipping its hat to the original, it takes it, puts it in a time machine, and sends it blasting off to a new dimension, strapping it into a rocket pointed directly towards the largest festivals of the summer. It’s dark, it’s huge, and it’s built for that 2 AM moment when the lights flash and it all goes crazy.
Expect ‘Cola’ (ARTBAT Remix) to be rinsed everywhere, from Ibiza megaclubs to European festivals to dark warehouses in Berlin. It’s not just a remix, it’s a celebration of everything ‘Cola’ was, and everything it’s about to become. If you’re even remotely into electronic music, this one’s already on your playlist.
