New York’s own Charles D is touching down on Factory 93 Records with his label debut, ‘Heavy / So High,’ both of which have been statement pieces in his sets over the last year.

Charles D’s unmistakable style combines hard-hitting techno grooves with progressive sounds and influence. His consistent output of material has earned him support from the likes of Eric Prydz, Layton Giordani, Cristoph, and many others. On his debut EP for Factory 93, the American producer explores the dark and heavy side of melodic techno, amounting to two tracks uniquely suited for massive rooms.

“Heavy” is true to its name, with its thunderous groove punctuated by sweeping synthesizer swells and dramatic crescendos before diving into a lengthy breakdown. “So High” is more melodic, incorporating ghostly vocals and arpeggios to give the track an ethereal and spacious character. The track has already seen support from Adam Beyer at Creamfields, and the response was positively electric.

“I’m super pumped to have these tracks come out,” says Charles D. “They have been a big part of my live sets over the past year.”

The New Yorker’s touring schedule has taken him to some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country, in addition to being roped in as direct support for Eric Prydz during his recent run of dates in North America. It was a natural progression, after securing numerous releases on the tastemaker’s mighty record label, including his chart-topping single “You” that has been on heavy rotation for countless like-minded artists since it first hit shelves a couple of years back. Charles D is now building onto that momentum with another set of solid techno weapons that have already begun to follow in its footsteps.

Charles D’s new release ‘Heavy / So High’ is available everywhere via Factory 93 Records.
