Fresh off producing for Nia Archives’ Bad Gyalz, CLIPZ now enlists an impressive crew consisting of KAM-BU, Tia Carys & Lady Ice for massive grime infused, bass heater ‘I LIKE’ accompanied by a fresh music video via his Dream Vision Future label.

Raised by the vital and all-encompassing sounds of 90s rave, CLIPZ first cut his teeth in the thriving junglist ecosystems of Bristol’s free parties, warehouses, sound systems, dubplates, and more from the age of 13. Before conquering the scene as alternative alias Redlight, a staple of the early 2010s, CLIPZ inspired a generation in the early 2000s with bullish bassline blends and top tier D&B and jungle drops as he ignited an uncompromising role in bass culture and guiding it forward.

The most recent incarnation of CLIPZ that returned in 2019 with Down 4 now nods to the roots of the culture and its inspiration, found in recent tracks like Again with the legendary Ms Dynamite, Ms Banks and Jaykae, which currently boasts 11M Spotify streams, No Time with Nia Archives, Beanie Man, Cristale and ShaSimone and Shorty which landed BBC Radio 1 daytime rotation. Elsewhere as an in demand producer, this past year has seen him team once more with Nia Archives on Bad Gyalz as well as earning further production credits on Finn Foxell’s TYSON.

Elsewhere, his volatile crowd-raising DJ sets have seen him play shows at London’s Fabric, Heaven, and Hidden alongside fellow legends Pendulum, High Contrast, and Andy C to more recent shows at Boomtown Festival and Secret Project Festival in Portugal. His joint international tour with alias Redlight this past spring took him across Bristol’s iconic Love Saves The Day festival, London’s Brixton Jamm, Japan’s Circus and STARFESTIVAL, London’s Fabric, Cardiff’s Bedlam, and more.

Meanwhile, joining CLIPZ on the record, KAM-BU brings his lyrical flows straight from South West London to ‘I LIKE’. Influenced by an intriguing and diverse range of acts including Fela Kuti, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Streets, The Prodigy paired with his years spent in UK underground rave culture, the rapper’s singular talent and effortless grasp of party anthems and laser-like lyricism has set him apart to critics and fans alike. His debut 2021 EP Black on Black featured prolific names like Rachel Chinouriri and Knucks and paved the way for this year’s critically acclaimed Built 2 Last EP, three sell out headline shows in London as well as performances across Reading & Leeds, All Points East, Glastonbury, Pitchfork Paris, and more.

Also spitting fire on ‘I LIKE’, Tia Carys first burst into the UK rap scene with the powerful single Intro which introduced her skill for storytelling and ability to convey struggles about sexuality and religion with vulnerability and grace. Born without hearing into Ghanaian and British heritage, she first developed a love for music training with a hip hop teacher and cut her teeth on hashtagged rap battles that caught the eye of Wrench 32. Since then, the rising star has collaborated with the likes of Toddla T and performed at Reading & Leeds festival with more in the pipeline.

Finally, Lady Ice has cemented herself as a formidable force in the UK drill and rap scene ever since her appearance on BBC One and BBC Three’s The Rap Game UK with Krept, Konan, and DJ Target went viral. Known for her versatile musical delivery and effortless word play, Lady Ice boasts support from the likes of Annie Mac, Toddla T, DJ Target, Dotty, and more on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, plays on Capital 1Xtra and KISS FM, and a feature on footasylum’s New Year Same Waves campaign with her track Headtop. Already boasting performances at some of the UK’s biggest festivals including MADE, NASS, Boomtown, and shows for BBC 1xtra Live at the O2 Arena, Lady Ice is ready for takeoff.

The prodigious crew of talent now join forces for a show-stopping jungle anthem. Featuring ice cold flows from some of the UK’s most exciting wordsmiths paired with the deliciously aggressive drops, floor-filling breakdowns, and mammoth bass lines demonstrating CLIPZ at his best and marking ‘I LIKE’ as a surefire hit and dancefloor essential.

CLIPZ – ‘I LIKE’ (feat. KAM-BU, Tia Carys & Lady Ice) is out 25th August via Dream Vision Future.
