One of the most exciting new names on the worldwide techno stage, Dianthe returns with her new hard-punching EP, Intrusion, out today via The Aura of Music.
The release includes two mighty originals and remixes from Monococ, a collaboration between B’NATURE, Oshman, and URVNIUM, each bringing something different to Dianthe’s dark, peak-time sound.
Based in the West Coast of America, Dianthe has grown into a leading figure of her local underground. She merges sinister atmospheres with relentless rhythms-a style recognized by respected techno circles all over the world.
With Intrusion, she’s furthering her production craft and delivers an EP built for dance floors craving intensity. The title track “Intrusion” sets off the release with throbbing synths and a pulsating bassline wrapped in swirling, eerie textures, while sci-fi-inspired vocal layers add depth and mystery to create an immersive listen that is at once hypnotic and cinematic. On remix duty, Monococ – an artist regularly championed by the likes of techno heavyweights UMEK – transforms “Intrusion” into turbo-charged mode.
Lifting the tempo, introducing a sharp arpeggio, and beefing up that kick, his rework sends the track forward to go full-on force onto the dance floor, where precision meets power. The B-side “Strange Games” plunges much deeper into Dianthe’s darker realms. Along with menacing synth lines, pounding percussion, and an unrelenting groove, it captures the shadowy allure of underground techno at its finest. Its darkly brooding atmosphere and relentless rhythm make for a perfect complement to the EP’s title track. Rounding out the release, B’NATURE, Oshman, and URVNIUM team up on their remix for “Strange Games,” which reimagines it through a lens of their signature production style – as recently showcased on their album via Psy4Aliens.
Their remix strips back the drums to reveal a deep new bassline and crisp snare hits that leave room for tension and atmosphere. The result is a spacious, haunting cut that expands the EP’s emotional and sonic scope.
