A full-blown rave resurrection is happening in 2025 and it’s all because of one chaotic, rebellious anthem from the mid-2000s. Yup, Showtek’s iconic track “FTS” is making the loudest comeback of the year.
First heard at Qlimax in 2006 and officially released in 2007, this unapologetic hardstyle beast is being blasted in DJ sets across every genre, techno, bass, big room, you name it.
The craziest part? This isn’t just old-school hardstyle heads clinging to nostalgia. It’s a fresh wave of top-tier artists, Charlotte De Witte, Reinier Zonneveld, Armin van Buuren, 999999999, Hardwell, Fatima Hajji, KAYZO, Timmy Trumpet, DJ Boring, Robin Schulz, Yellow Claw, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Oliver Heldens, Maddix, all spinning the original version at massive festivals. It’s like the entire scene suddenly remembered how hard this track hits.
To mark the rebirth, Showtek dropped a short video diving into how “FTS” was born, what made it blow up back then, and why it’s wrecking stages now. The message is still the same: forget the system, rage with your people, and let the music speak louder than the noise of everyday life.
“Even though it’s a hardstyle track, it somehow cuts across genres and generations,” Showtek says in the video. “It’s a reminder that music doesn’t have an expiration date, and that we can all still f*ck the system together.”
They’re not wrong. This revival isn’t just about the sound, it’s about the energy and frustration that fuel dance floors around the world. The lyrics, the aggression, the escape, it all still hits in 2025 like it did in 2007.
And it’s not stopping. Reinier Zonneveld just released a killer remix on April 25 that’s been cooking in his live sets for years. “It’s an all-time classic,” he said. “After trying it out live a bunch of times, I finally landed on a version I’m proud to call mine. It absolutely pops off every time.” Then there’s Showtek’s huge EDC Las Vegas set on May 18 where they fired it off again. Up next? Sub Zero Project drops their reinterpretation on May 30, and yeah, there are more remixes in the works.
Sub Zero Project nailed it when they said, “It’s one of those timeless tracks you can throw into any set. The vocal, the raw sound, it’s a global anthem.”
For anyone who’s just tuning in: Showtek are the Dutch production duo made up of brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen. They started off in the hardstyle scene and completely owned it. “FTS” wasn’t just another banger, it became the genre’s most iconic anthem ever. Then they expanded into mainstream EDM and straight-up dominated.
Their hit “Bad” with David Guetta and VASSY? Over a billion streams. “Booyah” with We Are Loud and Sonny Wilson? Platinum certified. And that’s just a piece of their résumé. They’ve worked with Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, Wyclef Jean, Moby, Timmy Trumpet, you name it. Showtek didn’t just cross over, they erased genre lines altogether.
But even with all their new music and success, nothing hits like “FTS.” That track is pure fire and freedom. “When we created it, we wanted to tell a story about why we all come together at festivals, to forget the BS, to let go,” Showtek said. “That feeling hasn’t changed. Life’s hard enough already. Dance music is where we let it all out.”
The track might be from 2007, but its revival proves that energy doesn’t fade. It evolves, spreads, and connects a new generation of ravers to the same pulse. Whether you’re headbanging in the front row or feeling the beat from the back, “FTS” still knows how to shake a crowd.
