As the most catchy song on his Nighttime EP, DOLF’s ‘If I Die’ was crying out for a cinematic music video from the start.
The Dutch DJ/producer and his South Korean collaborator DJ Soda find each other in the final, climatic scene of the video, which was shot in nocturnal Seoul.
Another example of Barong Family commitment to producing excellent music videos, ‘If I Die’ was directed Joren Molter and features both artists in an unusual light. The globetrotting DJ is portrayed, for once, not as an amazingly happy superstar living the champagne popping lifestyle, but as a lonely professional in a strange, faraway land. DJ Soda—who is, in fact, adored in her home country—plays a humble sales girl who finds herself continually ignored by the crowd. Director Joren Molter: ‘I always wanted to direct a music video and although was a complicated shoot with a lot of extras, it was a lot of fun. DJ Soda and I bonded immediately over our mutual love of Star Wars.’
